You can’t teach 6’9” with the ability to put it on the deck and stroke it from deep (apparently at a 42% clip). We all know that Brad loves “elite shooters” which might be his favorite thing of all time and that includes Tyler. Looks like a prototype Euro 6’9” stretch 4, doesn’t look like he necessarily has “blow by” handles/speed off the dribble but can get to the rim with a little daylight. Not overly athletic and by my guess looks like he will take some time to get used to the speed of the college game. Remember, I reserve the right to change my mind about all of this at a moments notice with no hesitation. Fluid situation.
I see some Illini tweeters have this guy penciled in starting at the 4, but I’m not going that far (yet). My guess, put me down for David coming off of the bench with limited minutes early, ala Morez last year. And I’m not comparing the 2 players or anything like that and I’m not saying their Freshman seasons will play out similiarly, just that the early usage could look something like it did for Morez last year. (Fuck Morez for the record).
